I've got some pretty exciting news to share with you today!
Some of you may be familiar with MySpace's new Profile 2.0. It has a lot of advantages to it, although will take some getting used to in comparison with what MySpace has been in the past.
With it you can now arrange your profile boxes into up to 3 columns, and in any order you wish to have them. It also has the newer features such as the music player that can host multiple songs and a video player that blends in with your page. Overall, it can give a lot more of a cleaner appearance to your profile than any default layout could before, without needing a lot of coding.
The biggest benefit that I have seen so far is the new way the layout codes are used. Now that there's a specific CSS code box it opens up a lot of opportunities to change things up a bit. Some of the annoying restrictions that layouts had before are now gone, while a couple new ones seem to have popped up.
With all of this in mind, I decided to finally take the leap into designing 2.0 layouts. It may take a bit of time to get used to how the new coding works and what I can do with it, but I'm excited to explore the new territory. So far, I'm impressed.
For the time being, the layouts will be in their own category within the MySpace Layouts section. This is more than likely only temporary, however. I am not fully sure how I will set it up, having two types of layouts, but hopefully this will be done shortly.
If you are unsure about how to use the layouts for the new Profile 2.0, please check out the new tutorial on the subject.
On a side note, I'm happy to announce that the first two standard MySpace Layouts of the new Film Legends series I'm creating have been uploaded. It's a project I've wanted to do for awhile, and am quite excited about it. It's a series of layouts that will feature a variety of classic film stars, and possibly some classic movies as themes.
I hope you enjoy the new additions to the site!
Sincerely,
